Revered public art installation of 2 beams of light projected in the sky on the 9/11 anniversary.

Tribute in Light is a commemorative public art installation first presented six months after 9/11 and then every year thereafter, from dusk to dawn, on the night of September 11. It has become an iconic symbol that both honors those killed and celebrates the unbreakable spirit of New York.

The American flag is a symbol of freedom and liberty to which Americans recite the pledge of allegiance. The flag's 13 alternating red and white stripes represent the 13 original colonies. Its 50 white stars on a blue field represent the 50 states.
