Yellowstone National Park is an American national park located in the western United States, largely in the northwest corner of Wyoming and extending into Montana and Idaho. It was established by the 42nd U.S. Congress with the Yellowstone National Park Protection Act and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872. Yellowstone was the first national park in the U.S. and is also widely held to be the first national park in the world. The park is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially the Old Faithful geyser, one of its most popular. While it represents many types of biomes, the subalpine forest is the most abundant. It is part of the South Central Rockies forests ecoregion.

Yellowstone National Park is a nearly 3,500-sq.-mile wilderness recreation area atop a volcanic hot spot. Mostly in Wyoming, the park spreads into parts of Montana and Idaho too. Yellowstone features dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, hot springs and gushing geysers, including its most famous, Old Faithful. It's also home to hundreds of animal species, including bears, wolves, bison, elk and antelope.

Founded in 1900, the Mack truck did not feature its bulldog until 1921, originally as a side emblem. The hood ornament came about in 1932, designed by the company’s chief engineer, Alfred F. Masury. Since that time, the English bulldog named “Mack” has become one of the most collectible hood ornaments with the company creating an entire line of collectibles based on it.

You will find numerous new and preowned Mack the bulldog items for sale on eBay, including replacement hood ornaments, paperweights, magnets, key chains, and more. The hood ornaments themselves vary in material. Some come in nickel-plated brass, while others come in chrome, polished chrome, or gold chrome. The firm also issued some hood ornaments for hot rods in brushed gold. You can get inexpensive side emblems, too. Its paperweights typically come in stone while lapel pins come in gold. Surface: The current ornament features a smoother surface.

Bottom: The bottom of the actual hood ornament went through a change too. The function of the original was as a cover for exposed radiator caps that attached to the cap. Once the truck design moved the radiator under the vehicle’s body panels, the bulldog moved to the hood and served as an ornament that doubled as a handle. This means that the bottom of the two types of Mack truck hood ornament differs.
