We proudly continue the tradition of Bethlehem hospitality which began on the site of our current hotel in 1741.

People decorate their houses for Christmas primarily to celebrate the holiday by creating a festive atmosphere, connecting with tradition passed down through generations, and to visually symbolize the joy and spirit of the season through bright lights, ornaments, and festive decorations; many decorations also hold symbolic meanings, like the Christmas tree representing eternal life and the star on top representing the Star of Bethlehem.

Just as people today decorate their homes during the festive season with pine, spruce, and fir trees, many ancient peoples hung evergreen boughs over their doors and windows. In many countries it was believed that evergreens would keep away witches, ghosts, evil spirits, and illness.
