view from Norrbro Bridge
The Norrbro (“North Bridge”), Stockholm’s oldest preserved stone bridge, connects the two city districts of Gamla Stan and Norrmalm. It runs from the driveway of the Royal Castle(Lejonbacken) across the island of Helgeandsholmen to Gustav Adolfs Torg, crossing the Norrström, the main outlet of the Mälaren into the Baltic Sea. Under the central part of the bridge, on Helgeandsholmen Island, is Stockholm’s Medieval Museum (Medeltidsmuseet ).

Completed in 1807, the bridge was extensively renovated between 2007 and 2010, and was ceremonially reopened by Crown Princess Victoria in January 2010.

Dip net fishing boats in central Stockholm. Dip net fishermen were earlier a more common feature in the city life in this area. That was some time ago. The remaining boats are more of a historic remain. In the old times they could result in catches that were able to bring good incomes.

Strömbron (street bridge) is a 140-metre-long viaduct in central Stockholm, Sweden. Stretching over Norrström, it is connecting the old city Gamla stan to the northern-central district Norrmalm, or, more specifically, to Blasieholmen near the park Kungsträdgården.

The Grand Hôtel in Stockholm has been home to celebrities, high-profile events and everyday bon-vivants since 1874. It was French chef Régis Cadier who took the initiative and founded the first Swedish hotel to live up to the renowned continental-style hotels around Europe. Not only is the Cadier Bar named after him, but his memory lives on in our first-class guest services and love for glamorous events at the hotel.
