The Blue Lion is an independent free house in Bloomsbury, Central London with a variety of seating, nooks and crannies to suit most drinking and eating habits including booths, sofas and a dining table for up to 22 people.

We pride ourselves on our tasty pub food and our regularly changing cask ales on four hand pumps including our house ale, guest and seasonal brews often sourced from within a few miles of the pub.

The pub features a central bar with plenty of space to accommodate groups and parties from 2 to 120 people.

Children and well behaved dogs are always welcome.
Our history
There has been a Blue Lion on Gray's Inn Road since 1627, although its original location was across the road, next to St Andrew's burial ground.

The pub moved to its current location in 1824 and was completely rebuilt in 1936.

An article from The St Pancras Chronicle in March 1972 describes how the current building was nearly demolished to make way for a new office complex, but clearly fate stepped in and we are still standing here proudly today.
