God Bless America

No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why.

I stumbled across the FDNY Engine 40/Ladder 35 Firehouse on a recent trip to New York. Located at the corner of 66th & Amsterdam near Lincoln Center on the Upper West Side. I wasn't even sure what I was looking at until I stopped to read the plaque. I did a little research when I got home about the Cavemen as their house was known because they were housed in a garage without windows.

The Memorial honors the 12 firefighters of 13 from this house who responded to the WTC on 9/11and were fatally trapped. Only one survived. Through the many stories I've watched about 9/11 I am glad I was able to find this and pay my respects in person.
