Merry Christmas
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!
Howdy!
Cowboy Christmas
“Whoa” is an interjection used to tell a horse to stop or slow down. It's thought to be a variation of the word “ho”, which was an earlier way to command a horse to stop.
"Cowboy Christmas" is a term used to describe the time of year when many rodeos take place, usually from mid-June to early July. The term is used because it's a time when cowboys and cowgirls can compete in many rodeos across multiple states in a short period of time.
The week of July 4th is considered the most lucrative time of the rodeo season. Rodeo athletes travel long distances to compete in as many rodeos as possible, with the goal of earning as much money as they can. The excitement of entering rodeos and finding out when you're up is similar to waking up on Christmas morning.
Western pleasure is a western style competition at horse shows that evaluates horses on manners and suitability of the horse for a relaxed and slow but collected gait cadence, along with calm and responsive disposition. The horse is to appear to be a "pleasure" to ride, smooth-moving and very comfortable.
